Essbase Integration Services enables to create Essbase cubes directly connecting to the tables, views and columns of relational databases and data warehouses. It acts as a bridge between the relational data sources and Essbase applications for transferring metadata and data. This is done through a logical model created from tables and columns in the relational database called as
OLAP model. This OLAP model is then used to generate a Metaoutline. A
Metaoutline is an outline template that contains the structure and the rules required to generate an Essbase database outline. This eliminates building of dimension build and data load rules, thereby reducing development time.
